Chiayi County Enhances Water Quality Disclosure by Including Pollution Indices

The Environmental Protection Bureau, Chiayi County, has established water quality monitoring stations in the county's rivers and regional drainage systems, publishing the monthly water quality test results on its website.

Following an audit conducted by the Chiayi County Audit Office, it was found that while the Environmental Protection Bureau, Chiayi County website, published the water quality test items and their concentration values, it did not categorize the water quality pollution levels based on the monitoring data, making it difficult for the public to understand the health status of the river water quality. After being requested to improve, the Environmental Protection Bureau, Chiayi County, added the River Pollution Index to its website, optimizing the public information on the water environment.

Taoyuan Social Housing Now Meets Legal Quotas for Supporting Disadvantaged Residents

The Taoyuan City Government has constructed social housing that is rented but not sold to address the housing issues faced by the public.

Following an audit by the Taoyuan City Audit Office, it was discovered that the rental ratio for disadvantaged individuals in some social housing did not meet the statutory ratio of 40% or more as stipulated in the Housing Act. Taiwan Issues First Government Special Fund Sustainability Bond After Two-Year Push

The Ministry of Finance has promoted the issuance of sustainability bonds by non-business special funds to keep pace with the international trend of green finance, and has continuously recommended that funding demand units evaluate the issuance. After conducting an audit, the National Audit Office found that, after more than two years of promotion, the competent authorities of the funds still had not agreed to the issuance of sustainability bonds. After being requested to devise improvement measures, the agency has revised the Regulations Governing Rewards and Guidance for Afforestation, strengthening reforestation capacity and the resilience of sustainable forest management.
