Press release of the Audit Report of Fiscal Year 2023 of the Central Government, financial statement of subordinate department and consolidated table.

According to Article 105 of The Constitution, Article 34, Paragraph 2 of the Audit Law, and Article 26 of the Financial Statement Act. NAO had completed the audit of general financial statements of Central Government. The final audit amount statement was prepared and submitted to Legislative Yuan together with the audit report on July 29, 2024.

 

 

 

The implementation schedule for the Alishan Forest Railway Tunnel No. 42 project has been delayed. NAO has urged improvements. The forest railway was fully opened for operation on July 6, 2024.

Alishan Forest Railway and Cultural Heritage Office had initiated the " Alishan Forest Railway Tunnel No. 42 Project" to enhance the safety and service quality. The Audit Division on Education and Agriculture found out that Tunnel No. 42 project had not been completed as scheduled. The Office requested a review and prompt improvements. The Tunnel No. 42 project was completed on May 17, 2024, and the forest railway was operational on July 6, 2024.

 

 

The National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center had not fully implemented internal controls and accounting systems. The National Audit Office urged improvements, and the review and revision of the system have been completed.

NAO found out that the center had not yet completed the formulation of the internal control system in accordance with the regulations. The Ministry of the Interior was requested to urge the center to review and improve these systems. The center has since completed the formulation of its internal control systems and the revision of its accounting systems, thereby implementing the relevant systems effectively.

 

Some local governments had not implemented adequate information security protections for their school administrative systems. The National Audit Office urged improvements, and measures to strengthen information security protections have now been enhanced.

NAO found out that two local governments had not included their school administrative systems in the core information and communication systems, and six local governments' mobile application software (referred to as Apps) that failed cybersecurity testing. The Ministry of Education was requested to devise improvements. Local governments have since strengthened information security measures to ensure the safety of the personal data.
