The National Science and Technology Council built the AI Innovation and Application Building in the Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City to develop industrial research clusters.

Following an audit by the National Audit Office, it was discovered that the progress of the building's construction was not as expected, and the occupancy license was not obtained on time. After being requested by letter to review and improve, the National Science and Technology Council has completed and activated the building, attracting enterprises and research units to move in.

Taoyuan City Commences Levy of Sewage System Usage Fees to Inject Vital Financial Support into Major Drainage Infrastructure

The Department of Water Resources, Taoyuan, has been continuously promoting the construction of sewerage systems.

Following an audit by the Taoyuan City Audit Division of the National Audit Office, it was found that although the construction costs of the sewerage systems are substantial, the sewerage system usage fees have not been fully levied. After being requested to devise improvement measures, the Department of Water Resources commenced levying the fees on January 1, 2026, thereby upholding fairness and justice and helping to inject funds into the construction and maintenance of sewerage systems.

Government Establishes Comprehensive Drug Review and Submission Guidelines to Enhance Regulation of New Psychoactive Substances

To prevent and control drug hazards, the government has established a mechanism for deliberating, grading, and regulating drugs.

The National Audit Office found in an audit that the current early warning and reporting mechanism for new drugs lacks objective standards for reporting and regulation, affecting the effectiveness of early warning and control. After the National Audit Office requested the Executive Yuan to improve the mechanism, the Executive Yuan has formulated the Principles for Reporting Drugs for Deliberation, which will help strengthen the early warning and regulation of new drugs.

Hsinchu County Government Overhauls Property Valuation Tax Base to Achieve Greater Fiscal Equity and Social Justice

The Local Tax Bureau, Hsinchu County, regularly proposes to the Hsinchu County Real Estate Appraisal Committee to re-evaluate the standard housing prices for the purpose of calculating the current value of houses.

Upon audit by the Hsinchu County Audit Office, Taiwan Province, National Audit Office, it was found that there is still room for improvement in the evaluation of the standard housing prices within its jurisdiction. After being requested to improve, the Local Tax Bureau has re-adjusted the segment rates in certain areas to comply with the principle of tax fairness.
