The National Audit Office (NAO) found out that the Kaohsiung Operation Branch of the Taiwan Sugar Corporation conducted the operation of patrol on the slope lands in a conservative area, located at the Guanyin Lake Section of the Renwu District of Kaohsiung City, with deficiencies of failing to report irregular cases according to the rule governing the operation and to clarify the ownership of lands, resulting in occupations of some slope lands by land owners in the neighborhood and losses of soil. After the NAO called for improvements, the branch strengthened management of the land patrolling operation, adopted measures to maintain and conserve water and soil to avoid damages and losses due to landslide, requested compensation for damages, and probed into attribution of responsibilities to protect the rights of the corporation.
The Taipei Audit Division found out that safety protection management of the Taipei City Government’s electronic systems conducted by the Department of Information Technology of the Taipei City Government was not complete and part of the systems were launched before the safety was assured. After the division called for improvements, the department revised related operational principles to require that all applications pass inspections before the launch to enhance safety management of government’s information and communication and protect the safety of personal information.
The New Taipei City Audit Division found out that the multimedia guiding system of display panels placed by the Tourism and Travel Department of the New Taipei City Government in the tourist centers of train stations such as the Banqiao Train Station and of tourist spots provided services only in Chinese; thus it is adverse to promoting and disseminating international tourism. After the division called for improvements, the department added English, Japanese, and Korean to the system and held several promotion events intermittently to create a friendly tourism environment and increase the number of tourists.
