The Hsinchu City Audit Office found out that the Hsinchu City Government set up water level observatories to facilitate the flood forecast and flood warning system, but the government did not take flood records of flood-prone areas over past years as references. So water level observatories were not set up in many once flooded areas, and instant water monitoring results of each place were not available for inquiry. After the office called for improvements, the government set up water level observatories in those areas and released instant water monitoring results for inquiry to strengthen regional flood prevention warning and disaster prevention functions and protect citizens’ lives and property security.

The Taoyuan City Audit Division found out that a batch of construction spare materials that were bought from vendors due to termination of contract by the Department of Water Resources of the Taoyuan City Government were left unused for over three years. After the division called for improvements, the department successively used those materials in other sewer constructions to reduce project expenditures, realizing the value of purchased materials.

The Taitung County Audit Office found out that the Taitung County Government implemented the Taitung County Aboriginal Cultural and Creative Industry Settlement Project with deficiencies including: the entrusted managing firms of the Exhibition Area did not follow facility transit directions, causing the delay in operation; after the operation of the Creative Study Area, the number of artists only reached 50% of the expected data of performance indicator, and the space was not effectively utilized. After the office call for improvements, the government terminated the contract with the firms, completed the rental operation, and continuously invited artists to station in, aiming to effectively utilize the space and to promote the development of cultural and creative industries.
