2017 March Hot Audit News
The New Taipei City Audit Division found that the Hakka Affairs Department of the New Taipei City Government, which outsourced the operation of the restaurants and gift shops in the New Taipei City Hakka Museum, did not assess the contractor’s performance in accordance with the contract, nor did the department urge the contractor to buy public liability insurance and fire insurance. Also, the contractor did not arrange any Hakka performing groups to perform in the museum. After the division called for improvements, the department urged the contractor to buy insurance, and eight shows were performed by Hakka performing groups from September to December in 2016, fulfilling the Hakka Museum’s mission of promoting Hakka culture.
The Penghu County Audit Office found that the Penghu County Funeral Management Information System did not cover the information of the funeral facilities managed by the township governments, which made it inconvenient for citizens to search for the related information. After the office called for improvements, the system covered the related information of the thirteen funeral facilities managed by township governments, providing information, such as users, applicants, locations and the numbers of columbariums to inquiring citizens; improving the transparency of information; and manifesting the benefit of the information system.
