In order to implement “Technical Cooperation Agreement on Government Auditing” signed by the National Audit Office (NAO) and Supreme Audit Institutions of Latin American and the Caribbean countries, and to enhance cooperation relationship between the NAO and SAIs of our friendly countries, the NAO held 2019 International Audit Forum Opening Ceremony on March 11. The President of the Control Yuan Dr. Chang and the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Tsao gave speeches in the ceremony and the Chairman of the Institute of Internal Auditors Mr. Naohiro Mouri gave greetings to all participants via a pre-recorded video. There are 24 auditors from 13 countries participating in the two-week forum, and all participants will attend sessions that include introduction to the government auditing system and two topics of sustainable development and audit and government procurement audit practices. They will also make official visits and experience the culture and customs of Taiwan. The event is expected to promote the knowledge and skills of auditors, contribute to good governance, and strengthen the friendship between Taiwan and friendly countries.
