The National Audit Office (NAO) belongs to the Control Yuan, its subsidiary auditing institutions are sited around the country and supervised by the Auditor General. The NAO plays an important role in the government's financial accountability system. To manifest the value and benefits of the auditing institutions, in other words, to make a difference to the lives of citizens, the NAO has promoted many revolutions on in auditing. Through the hard work of all the auditors, the NAO has reached significant quantitative and qualitative achievements. In the future, the NAO will put effort into enhancing the professionalism of its auditors, improving auditing techniques and methodologies, and focusing on international trends and developments of government auditing to stay current in the field. The NAO will also focus on auditing important policies and issues related to the public to make a difference in the lives of citizens.
