The Ministry of Transportation provides subsidies to local governments for experimental testing programs for autonomous buses, but lacks a comprehensive implementation plan. NAO has urged improvements, and relevant regulations have been developed.

To promote the use of autonomous driving and smart vehicle technologies in public transportation, the Ministry of Transportation subsidizes local governments through the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Development and Construction Program to conduct experimental testing programs for autonomous buses. The Audit Department’s review found that while the Ministry had drafted ITS plans, it lacked a comprehensive implementation strategy. Following the recommendation, the “Autonomous Bus Experimental Operation Safety Guidelines” have been developed, which help accelerate the deployment and promotion of autonomous driving technology in the public transportation sector.

 

Employment measures for middle-aged and senior citizens promoted by the Taitung County Government were found to be insufficient. NAO has urged improvements, leading to the establishment of a Senior Talent Service Center offering career counseling and other diversified services.

To assist middle-aged and senior citizens in securing employment, the Taitung County Government implemented various employment promotion measures. However, an audit conducted by the Taitung County Audit Office revealed that the unemployment rate among Taitung residents aged 55 to 64 has been higher than the national average in recent years, and the county’s measures were not sufficiently comprehensive. Following the recommendation, the county government established a Senior Talent Service Center to provide career counseling, job matching, and other diversified services.

 

Certain farmland in Taoyuan City was found to be used in violation of zoning regulations; NAO has urged improvements, and penalties have been imposed in accordance with regulations, with follow-up corrective actions placed under supervision.

In managing the use of non-urban land within its jurisdiction, the Taoyuan City Government was found, through an audit conducted by the Taoyuan Audit Division, to have certain areas of general agricultural land used in violation of zoning control regulations. Following the recommendation, the city government imposed penalties in accordance with relevant regulations and placed subsequent corrective actions under supervision to ensure the effective implementation of regional planning.

 

The capacity of the 165 Anti-Fraud Consultation Hotline was found to be limited; NAO has urged improvements, and additional personnel have been assigned, while the division of work has been strengthened.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau, National Police Agency of the Ministry of the Interior, established the 165 Anti-Fraud Consultation Hotline to provide 24-hour anti-fraud consultation services to the public. An audit conducted by the National Audit Office found that some incoming calls to the 165 Hotline were not answered promptly, indicating limited service capacity. After the audit authority urged the Executive Yuan to review and improve the situation, additional personnel were assigned to assist with call handling, and dedicated staff were designated to manage online cases, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency of case processing.
