The Department of Social Welfare, Taipei City Government has been implementing various services to prevent the wandering of seniors with dementia. The Taipei City Audit Division revealed that in 2022, only 7.85% of the estimated number of seniors with dementia in the city applied for these services, indicating that the effectiveness of the initiative needs to be strengthened. Following this review, the bureau has enhanced public awareness regarding the prevention of wandering among seniors with dementia and has increased both the number and percentage of those utilizing the preventive services.

 

The Taiwan Network Information Center has been implementing a mechanism to block fraudulent websites without clear legal authorization, which poses a risk of legal liability. The National Audit Office has urged the Executive Yuan to promote appropriate measures, and a regulation for preventing the harm caused by fraudulent crimes has now been established and announced, providing a legal basis.

The Taiwan Network Information Center coordinates with various Internet Access Service Providers (IASPs) to develop a mechanism for blocking illegal fraudulent websites. However, an audit by the National Audit Office found that the relevant operational mechanisms lacked clear legal authorization and designated authorities, leading to potential legal liability risks. In response to this, the National Audit Office has requested the Executive Yuan to encourage responsible agencies to devise appropriate measures, resulting in the establishment of a legal basis in the regulation for preventing the harm caused by fraudulent crimes, ensuring the legitimacy and integrity of legal procedures.

 

The air pollution monitoring operations of the Environmental Protection Bureau, Yunlin County have not been through enough. NAO has urged improvements. The Bureau have been strengthened monitoring operations and the effectiveness of compliance inspections.

The Environmental Protection Bureau is working to establish a robust environmental monitoring network by deploying micro air quality sensors. The Yunlin County Audit Office found that certain industrial areas, which are known hotspots for complaints, lacked sensor installations along their perimeters, resulting in an inability to track air pollution in real time. Following this finding, the bureau has been urged to review and improve its operations, leading to the installation of 250 additional sensors and surveillance equipment to enhance the environmental monitoring network and protect air quality.

 

The Penghu County Government has not properly managed the discarded oyster shells from the oyster farming industry. NAO has urged improvements. The government had established a temporary storage site for oyster shells and a recycling and disposal model.

The Agricultural and Fisheries Penghu County Government assists local township offices in setting up and operating temporary storage sites for discarded oyster shells. An audit by the Penghu County Audit Office found that some township offices had not established these temporary storage sites and lacked resources for recycling and disposal. After reviewing the situation, they have been guided to set up temporary storage sites for oyster shells and establish a recycling and disposal model, balancing local environmental hygiene with sustainable industry development.
